New Graduate MENTOR ProgramWe created the MENTOR Program (Meeting Educational Needs Through Ongoing Reassessment) to give new PT/OT graduates the clinical guidance and tools critical to developing the reasoning skills they need to offer patients the finest care. The MENTOR Program is a great way for all new therapists to learn from our elite team of therapy professionals through group discussions, information sessions and clinical demonstrations.

Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency – Our 12-month Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program prepares physical therapists to sit for board certification as an Orthopaedic Certified Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists (ABPTS). We utilize a blended learning format that incorporates online curriculum and weekend lab courses led by recognized leaders in the profession. The BenchMark Rehab Institute Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency is accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association as a post-professional residency program for physical therapists in orthopaedics.

Hand Therapy Residency – Our hand therapy residency is a structured educational and clinical mentoring program designed to prepare the practicing clinician for specialization in hand therapy. After graduation, residents sit for the Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) examination with the Hand Therapy Certification Commission, provided they have met all eligibility criteria set forth by the HTCC. Please note: Practice hours accumulated within the hand therapy residency accrue toward both the 4,000 hour and the three practice years eligibility requirements to sit for the CHT exam.

Fellowship in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy – The OMPT fellowship is an 18-month program which provides a combination of advanced didactic education and intensive clinical mentorship to guide experienced, board-certified clinicians toward advanced practice in the sub-specialty field of OMPT. Graduates of the program are eligible to apply to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists, FAAOMPT. The Benchmark Rehab Institute Fellowship in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy is accredited by American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education.

Clinical leaders in our company are encouraged to apply for the Senior Therapist designation. This designation indicates clinical expertise and experience that upholds/demonstrates our company’s mission, vision and values. Senior Therapists are an integral part of our therapist MENTOR Program and our clinical excellence programs, including research, outcomes, student, education, advocacy, and awards and recognition.

At BenchMark Rehab Partners, we’ve defined our purpose: to exceed expectations. This is a unifying element for our company much like our mission, vision and values. Each year at our annual awards banquet, we celebrate great examples of people who carry out our purpose. Nominees come from the business office associates, office coordinators, clinical managers and clinicians. Each nominee and subsequent finalist is someone who took extra effort to surpass their customers’ highest expectations.

We collaborate with accredited physical therapy and occupational therapy programs to offer students clinical rotation affiliations that provide hands-on experience and the opportunity to learn from leading professionals throughout the region. Our program provides a diverse orthopaedic and neurological caseload, physician shadowing, peer-to-peer interactions, surgical observation opportunities, grand rounds and much more so that interns leave with advanced knowledge in clinical decision-making through the application of evidence-based practice.

For questions about our student programs, email us at
