What & How | Mission
At BenchMark, we are committed to inspiring and empowering people to reach their full potential.
The first BenchMark Physical Therapy clinic opened with only a handful of clinicians in Ooltewah, Tennessee.
BenchMark grew gradually in its first years by adding 10 clinics across the North Georgia and Chattanooga and Knoxville, Tennessee, area.
BenchMark Rehab Partners was born as an umbrella of the brands with which we would partner. Growth continued into Georgia. BenchMark joined forces with the owners of Atlanta-based Rehab South and Pro Therapy. More formalized continuing education programs were formed, including a mentorship program and an orthopaedic residency/fellowship program. In addition, a Committee of Clinical Excellence was created to continue our clinical growth.
With a mission to inspire and empower others to reach their full potential, we began an initiative of uniting associates in the company with a heart to serve with community service. The Beyond the Mark initiative was born with the goal to reach outside our clinic walls in the areas of health, hunger and homelessness to give back to others and our communities.
Robert Funk and Associates partnered with BenchMark to create OnMark Physical Therapy in Alabama (later re-branded as BenchMark Physical Therapy). SERC Physical & Hand Therapy in the greater Kansas City bi-state region partnered. The first clinics in North Carolina and South Carolina were opened. Before the year's end, Louisiana-based Physiofit partnered.
Interactive Physical Therapy in the Topeka, Kansas, market partnered with us, continuing the already expanding SERC portfolio in that region.
Physical Therapy & Hand Specialists in North Carolina joined our portfolio, followed by OnSite, which expanded our workers’ compensation offering.
BenchMark entered into Texas with a position with Peak Physical Therapy in the Dallas market, followed by Pulaski/Ardmore in central Tennessee, Marino Physical Therapy in Knoxville and Impact Physical Therapy in central Oregon.
Most important is our continued focus on the equity partnership strategy we began in 2004, forming clinic level equity partnerships with the best and brightest physical and occupational therapists in our markets. Since that time, we have formed over 125 of these partnerships, and that concept continues now.
